Day Out With Mum

My day began with awesome pork and wine kolo mee from some coffee shop opposite Crossway with my mum. My dad went off for some day trip in the swamps.

It was my second time going to The Hills. The last time I went was during the Chinese New Year month when I came back from KL. The Hills still looked pretty empty. I like their toilets because it was CLEAN.

I stocked up on more facial masks from Skin Food. To my dismay, I couldn’t use collect stamps to redeem gifts using the same stamp card that I use at Skin Food in Sunway Pyramid. I thought I could redeem something today with the amount of stamps I already had.
My mum took me shopping. =) Unfortunately, there didn’t seem to be anything much that I liked.
Green tea cake from Mr. Ho’s Fine Food. RM9. Probably one of my favourites since cakes from Mr. Ho’s are not too sweet.
Blueberry cheesecake, also from Mr. Ho’s. RM9. Too rich for my liking.

Those are my dad’s spectacles. I used to think that black full frames are really cool. But this trip home, I realized my dad had been wearing thick black frames since forever (four to five years ago) because he thought they were cool, suddenly black full frames seem outdated. Not to forget the fact that my dad has a few pairs of thick framed spectacles, even one that has weird angles.

I got a haircut. Actually it’s pretty much my old hairstyle except that I didn’t bother to use hairbands or pins this time. I can see panda eyes. The effect of sleeping at 5AM this morning and getting up at 8AM.

Amy, Fergie, Phoebe, Wun Yhee and I went to Snowflake (near Taylor’s College) to have Taiwanese desert after classes since Biology test was postponed due to an unfortunate reason.
 
I absolutely the azuki beans and ocha-ocha (bottom right hand corner) desert! Heaven.
Then it was dinner at Sakae Sushi with Amy, Fergie and Peter.
I bought a two tone jade green and emerald green shawl for RM20. I think that was pretty cheap. It was an excellent blanket during my flight today.

Coincidentally, we all tried on similar tops while shopping! I bought that.
And I bought that for my mum for Mother’s Day.

And now… I AM HOME!!! And I am also in love with Owl City’s Vanilla Twilight.

Rapid Update

My slipper broke, so I went to Sunway Pyramid on Monday to get a new pair from Charles and Keith (currently my favourite shoe shop!)

My new roommate moved in and her parents sponsored us shoe racks.

Chemistry lab session: Preparing standard solutions with my lab partner, Adyna.

Currently, I have turquoise blue power chains attached to my braces.

After that, I went to Focus Point at Sunway Pyramid (again…to Sunway Pyramid) to get new glasses done with my fashion si-fu.

The outcome based on a mutual agreement between my fashion si-fu, the optician and I, was this:

Half-frames again. Purplish-red this time.I wanted full frames but I looked awful in them.

My attempt to omit butter in making bread pudding turned out to be a bad decision. It became like toasted bread.

I bought some Biotherm products this week.

Currently, I am in love with Biotherm’s Aquasource moisturiser.

I went to Sunway Pyramid AGAIN this afternoon with Amy to have early dinner at Esquire Kitchen.

Another Update

That day, I fell asleep really early and ended up waking at 4.30AM. Since I was hungry, I went to make myself breakfast. That time all of my housemates were fast asleep. While I was stirring my cereal drink, I heard a loud frustrated female scream coming from the bedroom hallway. Hmm… it wasn’t my housemates that’s for sure.

I love Japanese food especially sashimi and unagi.

 
That Friday, I had sashimi salad with miso dressing.

I had unagi too. I know you would die to get your hands on a plate of unagi.

Burglary Skills

I was locked inside the toilet yesterday.

I went to brush my teeth around 6.30AM and shut the toilet door behind me without locking it. After I was done brushing, I turned the doorknob and I realized the door couldn’t open at all. I recalled Lawrence getting locked inside his apartment’s toilet for 4 hours listening to music that his kind housemates played for him from the outside. I began to think… “shit… I am so going to miss college today just because I got locked inside my own toilet!”

Since Felicia was the only person awake that time in her room, I yelled her name over and over again but sadly, no one came to my rescue. I had no knight in shining armor barging through the toilet door to save me.

So I used my burglary skills and picked the lock using a metal clothing hook and I rescued myself.

Unfortunately, one of my housemates experimented and tried shutting the door. So now, we do not have a toilet.

Update

An awesome mushroom chicken pie that I had last week after a round of shopping alone at Sunway Pyramid to release tension from a whole week of multiple tests. I also had an awesome La Opera cake.

Fire drill in Sunway College…

Fergs bought new spectacles. Big frames are cool but I fail to pull off the look.

Cockroach infestation in my apartment… of all sizes and age. Amy was a good cockroach exterminator.

My breakfast of Italian sausages, cheese and wholemeal bread. Totally random.

I had sashimi salad and unagi at Pasta Zanmai with Fergs and Adyna. Then we shopped. By the time Adyna and I got back to college, we were drenched from the heavy downpour.

At night, Amy and I had a moment of indulgence in cookies and cream ice cream.

I bought a new precious, the ELECTRIC OVEN. Now I can warm my siew baos for breakfast tomorrow and bake cakes!

Scammed

I was so happy today after I returned from grocery shopping with a big bag of chestnuts.

I boiled them.

Happily I sat down with one big bowl of chestnuts and a spoon to gouge.

70% of them were rotten.

It’s been ages since I last got a pair of contact lenses and so I splurged on a pair. They were out of stock of my usual brownish with the slightest green tinge contact lenses (honey brown makes me look odd somehow), so I tried the Gemstone Green pair. It really isn’t that green unless subjected to camera flash. Not very noticeable under normal lighting.

I discovered today that Guardian sells Loreal’s UV Perfect protector for RM38.00 but MYDIN sells for only RM31!!!

Good Good Day

People get good hair days but today I think I have a good eye day. It almost looks less sepet.

Exam Tip

I learned a new exam tip from a classmate today,

”you’ll perform better during an exam when hungry because more blood flows to your brain”

I asked him if he made that up or it was a fact for real. He and his friends claimed it is a fact.

Just that you can’t be too hungry.

Progress Update

Thank goodness. I thought I had flunked 3C/3D Mathematics but turns out I got a 46/55. Careless mistakes as usual but nevertheless, I think I am improving on making less horrible careless mistakes. An improvement is better than nothing I suppose. Chemistry quiz today was okay. 
Interesting how some of my classmates here like to call me by Nathania instead.

There was a Biotherm promotion going on in Sunway College and they did this skin test for me without charge. Turns out the skin on my cheek is 35% hydrated and 38% hydrated on my forehead. The normal skin according to the Biotherm lady, should be 40% and above. She was recommending some products for me and goodness, one standard-sized tube of Biotherm facial foam costs RM90. I could buy 4 and a 1/2 of my Loreal Perfect White facial foams with RM90! No wonder they promoted Biotherm in Sunway College… get it?

This random person from another state in Malaysia added me in Facebook some time around December 2008 and wow, I met him in college two days ago! Apparently he is a student at Sunway College too. By the power of Facebook, the world is really getting smaller these days!
Three Auckland University representatives from the medical and health sciences faculty came to have a talk with us today. Guess what they told us?

There are FOUR SEATS in UNIVERSITY OF OTAGO and TEN SEATS in UNIVERSITY OF AUCKLAND.

Yet we have SEVENTEEN of us JPA-bound New Zealand medicine program students. Do the mathematics.

During the selection interview, if we feel that Auckland is not the best place for you, we will tell you that.
