#19: Bruised Hues

Too much knowledge creates paranoid people particularly when all of your course subjects tell you nearly daily… MORBIDITY and MORTALITY, and throws statistics across the lecture theatre in front of your face.

Chemistry tells you how using alpha hydroxy acids  in facial peel-off masks actually work by burning your skin. How hydrolyzed silk in shampoos sound grand but actually wash off in less than a second, doing nothing to your hair. So forth and so forth. Chemistry tells you that a lot of products aren’t as useful as you once thought they were. That you’ve wasted your money for the past few years.

Population health tells you how likely you’re going to die. No. Really. It makes you go… HIV! TB! STDs! Cholera! Butter makes you die of cardiovascular diseases! If I do this and that I’m reducing my lifespan by this and that! So forth and so forth.

Oh and you learn that Malaysia is third world country with a lot of motorcycles  and tribes.IMG_6283

#18: Pot of Gold

IMG_6198
At rainbow’s end, you’ll find a pot of gold and a leprechaun. Unfortunately, I am more likely to find a Kiwi fruit here rather than a leprechaun. That photograph was taken at 7.30AM.
Untitled-1
#18: hues of blues.

Coupled with the same old hairdo.

Off for lunch. Crumbed fish vs crumbed vegetable patties vs toast… what a tough decision but it was made… I had marmite on toast.IMG_6261
Dinner. Asam sting ray.

Fresh greens. Ugh. Again. Eating raw greens is like eating grass.

#15: Rainy Day

IMG_6060
MNG cardigan and bits and pieces scavenged from somewhere at the back of my closet.

On a rainy day (particularly one that rains all day long), one just can’t be bothered. Walking through the rain and wind produces disheveled-looking people.

Sidenote: Some subjects left to cover before finals in two weeks’ time.

#14: Scarabs + Labs

IMG_6056
Vintage green scarab beetle. At least fifteen years old.
IMG_6048
Today was a laboratory day. I spent the last three hours of my afternoon staring into a dissecting microscope.

Brimming Bucket

IMG_5965
University life is like soaking in a bucket of hot water. So not. More being dunked into a bucket of books.

I just sat for my Chemistry test couple of hours ago. Woohoo for exams in fourteen days to come.
IMG_5967
#12. Gold-spun Forever 21 sweater, navy blue Zara cardigan, turquoise Kate Moss necklace and light grey Levi’s and brown brogues which are well, left out of the photographs for reasons beginning with the letter L and ending with Y. Four-lettered word.

Weekend Chemistry

IMG_4541
Exams are approaching, winter break is approaching but before all that, I’ve got a Chemistry test tomorrow night.

Just soaking up the day
I think to myself
This world is a beautiful place”

Brief Post

IMG_5925
Someone said it would be the end of the world today, five months of hell on Earth and so forth but we got a fireworks display instead.

All seems good apparently.IMG_5955 copy
I lost track. I think this is outfit #10 or #11.IMG_5942 copy

Question To Think About

IMG_1447 copy[9]

Inspired by an old friend, Hansley who is currently at the opposite end of the globe from where I am, Russia, the issue of plastic surgery. Is it right to go under the knife or is it a sin to do so?

Christianity always urges one to embrace their physical appearances and that everyone is beautiful on the inside. Hence, plastic surgery is wrong.

So why is it fine to have orthodontic treatment to have a perfect set of choppers? Or why is it fine to dye your hair brown if you have red hair?

Some may say that plastic surgery is a permanent procedure while dyeing your hair is not. What about orthodontics?

If I think my teeth are crooked and it makes me look ugly, I would seek for an orthodontist and request for my teeth to be straightened. Two options, braces or orthodontic surgery whereby they’ll slice open your gums, reposition your teeth and stitch your gums.

So what’s the difference if one thinks his nose is crooked, makes him look ugly, seeks for a plastic surgeon and get a rhinoplasty done?

I could go on and on if I could but fortunately/unfortunately, I have a Chemistry test on Monday.

Classification of plastic surgery into the right or wrong category is merely just human opinionated.

Podmate

I never knew my podmate was making bomb-like devices in his room. Things some engineering students come up with.

Awesome.

Back to Chemistry test preparations!

Temporary Hiatus

IMG_5829
Latest piece of jewelry received from my mum.

It’s a busy, busy week with an assignment due tomorrow and a test tomorrow evening as well. Not to mention another one on Monday and exams on the 9th of June.

Shall go on a temporary blogger’s hiatus.

Friday

IMG_5777
A cherub on Friday the 13th.
IMG_5769
I hate the feeling when you look at your wrist to tell the time and realize, oh crap, I’m not wearing a watch today. Did I mention that I woke up late for lectures today? It was 10 minutes to 8.00AM when I woke up. I managed to get changed, washed up and grabbed a peanut butter sandwich before heading off to my 8.00AM lectures, arriving sharp at 8.07AM, that’s 2 minutes late for lectures and 0-4 minutes later than usual. Only bad part was that I did not get to have a big bowl of fruit and yogurt for breakfast.
IMG_5740
My one and only self-dubbed universal-colour-matching beanie.

I also realized that my DIY hair job looked rather like highlights. Previously while I was trying out Liese hair dye, my first attempt at a DIY hair job. I was way too lazy to colour my whole head of hair so I just coloured the outer layers and in between. DIY hair jobs are seriously such a pain in the bum, so much effort. No more DIY hair jobs, I rather just go back to my stylist to get a professional hair job.
