#31: Davenport, Crafts, Food

Day two of winter, but being in Auckland, it’s not that cold most of the time. Unfortunately, skies are grey most of the time these days. Somehow I really like this photograph. Anyway, weather wasn’t all too warm and sunny but at least it wasn’t raining, a good day to go off to do some trinket shopping at Davenport.

Note the buttons on my coat. Couple of hours ago, I just had them taken off and fixed new vintage silver buttons on.

Random interesting scene.
So we spent the whole afternoon browsing all these shops selling little bits of things. Got a couple of interesting but practical bits from one or two shops.

One gloomy-looking labrador retriever in the bookshop.

Stir fried kailan with wine and salted fish for dinner.
Braised pork with preserved vegetables.

Spent quite some time at Borders, browsed through fictions, the gift section and the cooking section.
Two novels that I bought to fill up my time during winter break.

Bought a couple of things from the haberdashery for some arts and craft during the break. Vintage-looking buttons to replace the plastic buttons on my beige pea coat. Got them for 70 cents each.
End product after one and a half hours of sewing.
